Mistruth and consequences

Note: In the course of the interview, North Carolina Republican precinct chairman Don Yelton referred to "lazy blacks" that want "the government to give them everything," while also arguing that neither he nor the law he supported were racist. Later, Yelton resigned.

  1. Sadly, this represents the majority of the Republican Party, which is filled with racists, fundamentalists and the wacko tea party types. What is particularly frightening is the utter ignorance of American politicians, who seem to relish their ignorance. Stupid is as stupid does and I'm afraid we are watching the fast eroding of a former world power that is asleep and dreams of Jim Crow, the 40's, and a god given right to do as one pleases in the world.

  2. What this GOP politico said is what many think. That is why the Supreme Court of the U.S.A. struck down sections of the Voting Act. These people are racist. They don't deal well with anyone but themselves.

It is no wonder that Forbes listed the Pres. of the U.S.A. as #2, Putin #1, President of China #3.

Some american states, it just boggles the mind. We may talk about backward thinking but some Americans never moved forward, to go backward.

  3. The refreshing thing here is that Yelton actually resigned.

Faced with damning evidence and public outcries, what have many Canadian politicians done this year?

    Exactly...
