Recognizing real radicals

Britt's Patterns of national behavior and abuse of power #3:
"Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause..."

Bill C-38, Judith Lavoie, Times Colonist, May 9, 2012
"...Over the past few months, the environmental laws that protect our nation's extraordinary natural legacy have been gutted," [Peter] Robinson [CEO of the David Suzuki Foundation] said. "At the same time, those who want to protect it have been the targets of an unprecedented and organized effort to discredit, disenfranchise and silence their voices."

The federal government included a rewrite of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act in the omnibus budget bill.

Bill C-38 allows government to crack down on charities that advocate for better laws and policies; override National Energy Board decisions; and speed up environmental reviews, Robinson said.

"Perhaps, most disturbingly, it shuts citizen groups out of environmental reviews," he said...

Britt's Patterns of national behavior and abuse of power #10:
"Power of labor suppressed or eliminated..."

Pat Martin, Winnipeg Centre, NDP:
"Madam Speaker, very deep down in the bowels of Bill C-38 is a clause that hardly anybody even noticed. It abolishes, it repeals the Fair Wages and Hours of Labour Act for federally regulated construction projects.

"Why would anyone want to abolish something called the “fair wages and hours of work” act? ...

"It is a striking coincidence that now, in federally regulated projects like pipelines, a contractor can now post a job as follows: “Wanted: carpenters, $10 an hour”. Nobody is going to apply. Now, by this legislation, it will be perfectly okay to do so, and working for 70 hours a week with no overtime will be perfectly okay. No Canadian is going to apply, but guess what? The government has opened the door for temporary foreign workers, with a 10-day waiting period.

No fair contractor in this country will ever win another job, because the government has eliminated the Fair Wages and Hours of Labour Act by virtue of this legislation.

"Does the hon. member think it is fair for a budget bill to eradicate and destabilize the entire construction industry by eliminating the fair wages act?"

Britt's Patterns of national behavior and abuse of power #13:
Rampant cronyism and corruption. Those in business circles and close to the power elite often used their position to enrich themselves. This corruption worked both ways; the power elite would receive financial gifts and property from the economic elite, who in turn would gain the benefit of government favoritism. Members of the power elite were in a position to obtain vast wealth from other sources as well: for example, by stealing national resources. With the national security apparatus under control and the media muzzled, this corruption was largely unconstrained and not well understood by the general population.

    Dear Mr. Strahl,

In my reading today, I see that your party is moving to repeal "the Fair Wages and Hours of Labour Act for federally regulated construction projects."

Without the guarantee of fair wages and hours of work, who would apply for jobs on major projects... imported Chinese workers?

I thought we were over that with the building of the CPR.

    Yours,

BTW: thanks Norm for your easy-peasy links to find our MLAs and MPs.

Note to anyone else who writes to their representative: include your address, as they will first want to know that you are actually a constituent — rather than a common harasser. I'm sure they have a lot of mail to get through.

  3. I worked in private sector for a short while in marine services and research for a company that treated staff wretchedly. They wanted us available 24/7 for work, among other things, but didn't compensate us for the extras. When I inquired with the provincial LRB I was surprised to be told that anything business marine or fisheries based in nature fell under the federal labor code. It will now become incredibly easy to import labor for the shipbuilding contracts that everyone is so excited about. I recall Crispy Cluck crowing about how these contracts would provide good-paying, $40k a year jobs on which one could raise a family (Yes, she does live in la-la land). Guess we'll be underbid by some offshore workers...again.

  4. "Britts Patterns of National Behavior and Abuse of Power" should be "enshrined" in the Constitution, posted on the door of the house of commons and at the entrance, to each Provincial Legislature. With the understanding of all that "this is "not" what we are here to do folks".

  5. Mr. Strahl should have been reminded that Chinese workers don't vote and pushing labor relations back to the stone age will guarantee that no living CRAP/Con Government will ever get elected again.

  6. Obama has now given his executive order. The NAU is to commence. This is what BC Mary, Bless her soul, and I agreed on. Canada would become a state of the U.S. Mexico as well, will be merged. There is a desperate effort being made, to control the violence in Mexico.

Obama ordering Canada, we must fight the wars the U.S. starts.

Harper encouraging Canadians, to shop across the border. The border talks between the three Nations. Secret meetings were also in play. And of course, Harper is controlling absolutely everything he can get his hands on. All the controls in the provinces, are now going federal. Elizabeth May, is the only M.P. that speaks against the NAU.

People didn't seem to notice. The pipes for the Keystone pipeline were being manufactured, before Obama even made his delayed decision.

No-one seemed to notice, the Campbell/Clark BC Liberals, are under Harper's control, they work for him. Campbell betrayed the BC people, by working for Harper. They must dismantle BC into a financial ruin by, thieving and selling BC's assets and resources. Even BC citizens don't seem to notice, there is nothing left for BC to recover with.....everything of value is thieved and gone. This is why there is a desperate attempt, to have gun control. Hasn't anyone noticed, Harper's police state? He has the RCMP spying on the F.N. in their protest of the Enbridge pipeline. Harper has the police covering their faces, and disrupting peaceful demonstrations, trying to start fights. The first thing they have to do is, control the masses. Mexico is a, huge stumbling block. Gang wars and violence, will be very, very difficult to control.

I Googled, The NAU and Canada May 2012. Seems, Obama, Harper and Calderon, also endorse the NWO.

  7. Did I hear that BC Christy is going to bring in 125,000 Phillipine immigrants per year for 10 years because we have a serious labour shortage looming?

I think the new plan for the Corporate Robber Barons and their bought government puppets is to flood us with immigrants and gut labour standards laws. Ain't that grand.
